This study analyzes organ trafficking in Brazil, using the Pavesi Case as a case study. The case exposed ethical and legal flaws in the transplant system and has repercussions on legislation. It analyzes the influence of this case on the Brazilian legal system, highlighting advances and challenges. Methodologically, it follows a qualitative research approach, using bibliographic sources and employing documentary research with a deductive method. The Pavesi Case motivated important reforms, such as changes to Law No. 9.434/1997 and Law No. 13.344/2016, in addition to updating the regulations of the Federal Council of Medicine. Difficulties remain in the oversight and accountability of crimes related to organ trafficking. This study is relevant for improving the regulations that ensure human rights and dignity in transplants..
