This study aims to investigate the challenges faced by Youth and Adult Education (EJA) teachers in implementing the Pernambuco Curriculum in the municipality of Amaraji, in the Pernambuco State. Specifically, it seeks to identify how the curriculum is applied, examine the difficulties encountered, and analyze how continuing education processes influence its implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted, using semi-structured interviews with two teachers and one coordinator working in this educational modality. The analysis showed that, in applying the curriculum, teachers consider students’ learning levels and prior knowledge. The main challenges identified were the lack of teaching resources, difficulties in connecting theory and practice in the learning process, low student attendance, and the absence of specific continuing education on the curriculum. Therefore, overcoming these challenges requires investment in continuing education, the strengthening of EJA through educational policies, and a closer alignment between the curriculum and students’ social realities.
