Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Adolescent pregnancy is a complex phenomenon, marked by physical, emotional, and social transformations that can significantly impact the mental health of pregnant women. This phase requires special attention, as adolescents are still undergoing cognitive, emotional, and biological development, making them more vulnerable to psychological disorders, stress, and anxiety. Nursing care plays a crucial role in promoting emotional well-being, offering support, qualified listening, and continuous assistance during prenatal care and the pregnancy-puerperal cycle. METHODOLOGY: This study used an exploratory-descriptive approach through a literature review, analyzing Brazilian scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024 in databases such as BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE, and BDENF. Studies that directly addressed nursing care for the mental health of pregnant adolescents, in Portuguese or English, were included, excluding incomplete works, dissertations, theses, and publications prior to 2020. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The findings show that nursing acts in an integrated way, promoting welcoming, affective bonding, educational guidance, psychological support, and emotional support. The implementation of humanized protocols, professional training, and interdisciplinary strategies contribute to the prevention of depression, anxiety, and other disorders, strengthening adherence to prenatal care and the autonomy of the adolescent. CONCLUSION: Nursing care is essential to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of pregnant adolescents, reducing psychosocial risks, promoting humanized care, and strengthening maternal and child health. Continuous and empathetic monitoring minimizes vulnerabilities and favors healthy development of the mother and baby.
