Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of technology as a transformative factor in education, focusing on the opportunities and challenges of digital inclusion in Brazil. The research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach, based on documentary analysis and a literature review to investigate the impact of digital technologies in promoting educational equity. Topics such as unequal access to the internet, teacher training and resistance to changes in pedagogical practices are addressed, especially evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, it stands out that although programs such as the Broadband in Schools Program have expanded access to technology in public institutions, challenges related to infrastructure and teacher training persist. The conclusion is that digital inclusion requires coordinated efforts between the government, civil society and schools to ensure inclusive, quality education.
