This article aimed, through a qualitative-quantitative study, to analyze scientific publications and gather epidemiological data on the impacts of flooding on the incidence of leptospirosis and hepatitis A cases, especially in the Amazonas state. For collecting data, articles available in the Capes’s Journals Portal, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and PubMed were selected. Articles both in English and Portuguese that met the chosen criteria for inclusion were included. In addition to the aforementioned databases, data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Geological Service of Brazil (SGB) were also used. As a result, this study highlighted the link between flooding events in various regions of the country and the increase in waterborne diseases, occurring either simultaneously or up to three months after such events. Furthermore, gaps were identified that underscore the need for future research to expand existing knowledge and provide a more robust foundation for the implementation of more effective public policies.
