Abstract

This research addresses a crucial topic in the field of Consumer Law, describing online purchases of products and services, taking into account the advertising that influences consumer purchasing decisions. Internet shopping is rapidly expanding, offering numerous advantages due to the convenience of acquiring products or services through e-commerce. The objectives of this work were: General objective - To analyze the different situations that occur in online purchases and that can lead consumers to make mistakes; and specific objectives - To highlight consumer rights and specific laws on the subject, and to show how consumers understand their rights when acquiring goods and services. The methodological aspects of this study are based on explanatory, bibliographic, and documentary research, with a roadmap developed to ensure the work was constructed clearly. This study was conducted using: the Federal Constitution, books related to Consumer Law, Civil Law, the Civil Code, Administrative Law, methodological books, websites on legal topics, and theses and dissertations in the field of Law. It is known that in recent years, even physical stores have adopted e-commerce, generating a significant portion of their revenue. Therefore, society is already buying online, influenced by advertising and the perception of "security," especially for products such as clothing, beauty products, electronics, food, or general goods, and they consider not only quality but also price when making a purchase.
