Abstract

This article aims to contribute to the General-Command of the Paraná Military Police in developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs), commonly known as DRONES, in police operations. This topic deserves attention, as the use of this type of equipment has become increasingly common among public security agencies worldwide. The specific objectives of this work are to highlight the legislation and guidelines regulating the use of these aircraft, as well as to present the Standard Operating Procedure of the Santa Catarina Military Police, as a basis for developing regulations within the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR). To recognize the importance of the topic regarding the use of RAPs, we will present military police incidents in which their use significantly contributed to the success of the police operation. This will demonstrate that without this equipment, the military police would have had significant difficulty in resolving the incident, and perhaps would not have resolved it at all. Thus, through a technical and analog analysis, we sought to provide sufficient information to resolve doubts and clarify for military police officers operating ARPs the correct and safe use of this device, following the guidelines outlined in a SOP.
