This study addresses Science Research and Science Fairs as relevant tools for the teaching-learning process. Therefore, it reflects on the concept of research, its importance, the teacher as a potential researcher and the relevance of Science Fairs for the process of knowledge construction. It is based on a qualitative documental approach, based on scholars such as GODOY (1995), KRIPKA; SHELLER; BONOTTO, 2015, DEMO (2009, 2015), TIBA (2009), BEZERRA (2008), MARTINS (2007), PEREIRA; OAIGEM; HENING, (2000) and documents such as the Common National Curriculum Base - BNCC (2018) and the National Curriculum Parameters - PCNs (1998), to emphasize that through research the teacher perceives himself as an eternal learner, and should encourage students to constantly seeking new knowledge, and for that, you need to set an example, being a researcher, starting by questioning your own practice, as well as promoting moments such as stimulating the promotion of Science Fairs, in which students research about a certain topic, propose and socialize solutions to certain problems of their social context, thus building their own knowledge.
