Abstract

Malaria is one of the major public health challenges in the Amazon Region, particularly in the state of Amazonas, where environmental and social factors contribute to maintaining the transmission cycle. This study analyzed the disease's incidence between 2020 and 2024, identifying spatial and temporal patterns, as well as socioeconomic and environmental factors. The literature review, based on data from the Malaria Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (SIVEP-Malária) and scientific publications, revealed significant variation in the incidence, with higher prevalence in riverine and hard-to-reach areas. Key factors contributing to malaria persistence include deforestation, population mobility, and limited access to healthcare services. The study concludes that integrated public actions are essential to reduce transmission and control the disease.
