This study aimed to analyze the sensitivity of medications when exposed to inadequate temperatures and the role of pharmacists in ensuring stability and proper storage. The objective was to study how pharmacists contribute to maintaining the cold chain by following good transportation and storage practices to ensure the medication reaches patients safely. The methodology used was a narrative literature review, based on scientific articles, legislation, relevant documents, and regulations. The results indicate that storage failures compromise therapeutic efficacy, and that pharmacists play a fundamental role in implementing monitoring protocols, providing periodic staff training on handling and storage procedures, and preventing losses. They should also guide patients and other professionals on correct use and home storage. The conclusion is that pharmacists' performance is crucial to ensuring the quality of thermolabile medications and promoting their rational and safe use.
