Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) presents alterations in social and communicative development, as well as repetitive behaviors, usually identified in the early years of life. Objective: To analyze parents’ perceptions of ASD signs in their children and the impacts of this condition on the family context. Methodology: An integrative review with a qualitative and descriptive approach was conducted through searches in electronic databases such as SciELO, Google Scholar, LILACS, and BVS, covering the period from 2019 to 2024, using specific descriptors. Results: Fourteen articles were selected, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and the challenges faced by families, including processes of denial, symbolic grief, and the need for specialized support. The role of the support network, including health and education professionals, is emphasized for the child’s development and family balance. Final considerations: Family support combined with information and technical assistance significantly contributes to the adaptation and quality of life of the child and their family.
