EDUCATION AND RESOCIALIZATION: WAYS TO OVERCOME CRIME IN THE BRAZILIAN PRISON SYSTEM

The article, based on investigations and studies carried out, evaluated the crime situation in Brazil, particularly highlighting its increase, initiatives to combat crime and the importance of education in reducing these rates. The research outlined an overview of crime and the causes that contributed to its growth in recent years. With this, he detailed the social programs that exist in the country and suggested actions that could be effective towards decriminalization. Furthermore, it highlighted the relevance of education, especially among young people, and defined reintegration programs for adults. Thus, there was concern about assistance aimed at protecting young people exposed to violence. The need to understand the psychosocial factors that may be present in society was also emphasized to understand the elements that could lead to an increase in crime, as the prison system faces a serious crisis.
