Pulmonary stenosis is one of the most common congenital heart diseases in dogs, characterized by obstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract, leading to cardiac overload. Given its clinical significance and high incidence, it is essential to understand the pathophysiological aspects, diagnostic methods, and treatment options. This study aims to review the literature on pulmonary stenosis in dogs, with emphasis on balloon valvuloplasty, including its indications, procedural technique, advantages and limitations. Furthermore, it seeks to promote the dissemination of knowledge about this procedure among veterinary professionals, encouraging its implementation and enabling increased survival and improved quality of life for affected animals in a safe and effective manner.
