MARITAL CONFLICTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON CHILDREN'S PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT: A SYSTEMIC PERSPECTIVE

This article aims to analyze the impacts of marital conflicts on children's psychological development from a systemic perspective. Considering that the family is the first nucleus of socialization and emotional formation for the child, the study sought to understand how marital conflicts can affect the emotional, social, and cognitive balance of children. This research is basic in nature, with a qualitative and descriptive approach, based on a bibliographic review of scientific articles, dissertations, and theses published between 2015 and 2025 in databases such as PePSIC, SciELO, and Google Scholar. The results indicate that marital conflicts, when frequent and poorly resolved, directly interfere with family dynamics, compromising parental function and children's psychological development. It was found that the way conflicts are resolved, whether constructively or destructively, influences how a child learns to deal with their own emotions and relationships. Analysis, from a systemic perspective, shows that family subsystems are interdependent and that marital imbalance affects the entire family structure.
