Droughts intensified by climate change have critically affected the Amazon, particularly during the extreme events of 2023 and 2024. This study investigates the socio-environmental impacts of these droughts in the state of Amazonas, focusing on the intersection between water collapse, territorial reorganisation, and local adaptation strategies. A qualitative approach guides the analysis, using meteorological data, technical reports, and institutional records. The findings reveal serious effects on water supply, river transport, industrial activity, and public health, especially for riverine and remote communities. Despite emergency responses from public and civil institutions, actions remain fragmented and reactive. The study concludes that climate adaptation in the Amazon requires urgent and sustainable public policies based on environmental justice, community participation, and territorially grounded responses.
