Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweating and discomfort, causing an emotional and psychological impact on patients. This pathology may present in a primary way, such as a chronic, idiopathic and symmetrical alteration, characterized by associating endocrine dysfunctions. Treatments can be invasive and non-invasive temporary as botulinum toxin, which proves effective bringing a satisfactory result. Botulinum toxin is a potent neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and its use has become constant for various treatments such as hyperhidrosis. There are eight types of BtX, but the most studied and used mainly for medical and aesthetic purposes, is type A, which makes binding in the nerve endings of the postganglionic sympathetic fibers and inerates the sweat glands promoting effects of paralysis in the neuromuscular junction and thus inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, causing a decrease in muscle contraction. Applications should be handled by trained professionals and should be preceded by the Minor test that will determine the intensity of hyperhidrosis and the most affected sites. It is known that, despite being a safe and effective treatment, it is necessary to perform reapplications after the period of action of the toxin, since its duration varies between 4 and 6 months, depending on the physiology of the organism of the treated person.
