The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of physical therapy on the motor development and quality of life of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This is an integrative, descriptive-exploratory literature review conducted in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) between February and September 2025. Descriptors were used, applying the Boolean operator AND. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 19 articles were selected for analysis. The results showed that physical therapy contributes significantly to motor development, promoting gains in posture, balance, coordination, and muscle strength. In addition to the physical benefits, physical therapy interventions also positively influence behavior, socialization, and self-esteem, directly impacting quality of life. The work of the physical therapist, in conjunction with other professionals and with the support of the family, enables a comprehensive and individualized approach, respecting the particularities of each child. It is concluded that physiotherapy is an indispensable tool in the care of children with ASD, providing not only motor advances, but also greater autonomy and social inclusion.
