Abstract

The expansion of Distance Education (DE) has intensified the demand for academic management solutions that overcome system fragmentation and high traditional licensing costs, especially for managing multiple campuses. This article presents the development and evaluation of Send Educacional, an Academic Management System (AMS) designed for distance learning Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Its modular architecture and native campus management, combined with the strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for automation and predictive analytics, offer an efficient and scalable solution model. Using a hybrid methodology (Scrum and BPMN) and the GeneXus low-code platform, the project was implemented and evaluated at the Faculty of Commerce (FAC-SP). Through a qualitative case study based on stakeholder interviews, the results demonstrate an 80% reduction in average response time, transparent campus management, strengthened regulatory compliance, and improved user experience. Send Educacional establishes a replicable model of digital transformation, boosting competitiveness and sustainability in the Brazilian education sector.
