This study investigated the sociocultural dimensions of malaria in Mozambique, focusing on community perceptions, preventive practices, and barriers to treatment access. The findings indicate that, despite widespread knowledge about the disease, factors such as cultural beliefs, past experiences with outbreaks, and socioeconomic limitations significantly influence behaviors related to prevention and treatment-seeking. Additionally, interpersonal communication and the involvement of community leaders play crucial roles in adopting preventive measures and seeking treatment. These findings underscore the importance of malaria control strategies that integrate traditional knowledge and local cultural practices, promoting a more effective and sustainable approach to combating the disease.
