BEDSIDE RADIOGRAPHY :CLINICAL EVIDENCE, SAFETY AND IMPACTS ON CARE PRACTICE

Abstract

This article aimed to discuss the clinical relevance of portable radiography and its applications in different contexts, such as Intensive Care Units, neonatology, and critically ill patients, scenarios in which individuals are often restricted to bed. The methodology employed in this study consisted of a literature review that included recent and relevant works on the subject. The results show that bedside X-ray is an important tool, as it provides agility in care and more democratic access to diagnosis, particularly in patients requiring mechanical ventilation. Furthermore, it reduces operational costs while still delivering quality results.
