This article sought to revisit the concept of neurosis from a Gestalt therapy perspective and relate it to the adjustment processes experienced by Black women. Furthermore, we intertwined the ideas of Fritz Perls with those of philosophy and anthropology scholars, Carla Akotirene and Lélia Gonzalez, who address in their works how the construction of historical erasure and the consequences of oppression on the subjectivity of Black women occur due to racial impositions, with these authors being used as a priority. The works Por um feminismo Afro-Latino-Americano (GONZALEZ, 2020) and Interseccionalidade (AKOTIRENE, 2019) contribute to the research with their practical and theoretical knowledge about the historical-political-cultural reality of Black women's experiences in Brazil, connecting the theories discussed in the materials with the field of psychology. According to a study by the Ministry of Racial Equality (MIR), Black women represent the largest social group, accounting for more than 28% of the total population in Brazil (MIR, 2023), yet there are few scientific works with a Gestalt approach focused on this population. Thus, the research aimed to broaden the perspective not only of interested readers but also to foster academic debate and the development of research related to the proposed topic.
