In 2021, the Paraná Military Police (PMPR) implemented the project to reformulate the Rural Community Patrol, in its Version 4.0, covering the entire state. The project was based on studies and statistical data on crime in rural areas, with the aim of restoring security and tranquility in rural areas. The specialized teams carry out services that range from proactive actions with the community, community policing, including property registration, visits and daily guidance, to complementary actions in the repression of crimes and infractions. Currently, more than 90 Rural Community Patrol teams are distributed among battalions throughout the state of Paraná. This potential can also be used to respond to environmental crimes, promoting greater agility and efficiency of the PMPR in the prevention and immediate repression of these crimes. To this end, specific training is required to deal with environmental crimes, in addition to inclusion in the agreement with the Water and Land Institute (IAT), which will enable the appropriate referral of environmental incidents to the competent bodies, ensuring the necessary actions.
