TREATMENT PSYCHIATRIC AND CESSATION OF DANGEROUSNESS ASSESSED PATIENT IN CUSTODY HOSPITAL

This study analized the sociodemographic, clinical and legal profile of individuals serving it in criminal commitment, between 2020 and 2022 and underwent expertise in Psychiatric Custody and Treatment Hospital of Santa Catarina. Factors associated with the cessation of dangerousness in the population were also evaluated. Cross-sectional epidemiological study with analysis of medical records of all nonimputable individuals who underwent expert examination regarding this outcome (census sample). Individuals were mostly male (87,6%), single (66,1%) with not completed elementary school (48,8%). Schizophrenia was presente in 51,2%. Cessation of dangerousness was associated with “having family support” (p=0,005) and “regularity in outpatient treatment” (p=0,022). In the basis of the expert's report, the “single individuals” was associated with “having family support”, while in the group that “has/had partner” was associate with a “adherence to treatment” (p<0,001). Regarding the use of alcohol and other drugs, association was observed between cessation of dangerousness and “outpatient treatment” (p<0,001). The findings subsidize the elaboration of public polities for mental health care.
