RIGHT TO ALIMONY AND THE DIGNITY OF THE ELDERLY: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES IN AGING

Abstract

This paper examines the increasing demand for alimony in favor of elderly individuals, due to population aging and the consequent reduction in their capacity to perform activities previously carried out autonomously. It also addresses the right to alimony as provided for under the Elderly Statute (Estatuto do Idoso), as well as the psychological impacts associated with aging. The study seeks to understand the necessity of ensuring dignified living conditions for the elderly, taking into account both legal and psychosocial aspects.
