Considering its reach and reproduction in contemporary artistic creations of a work published over 150 years ago, it is striking how its content remains relevant and persistent in Western culture, presented in whole or in part in other forms. Thus, this study used the dialectical category of content and form to understand, through theoretical and scientific thought, the interpretation and worldview that Moby-Dick can provide in its historical and dialectical materiality, as well as enabling reader development and cultural transformation. The methodology used was bibliographical research with a critical-dialectical approach. It was understood that the person who enjoys artistic creation is part of society and its history and can appropriate and transform its culture. Artistic production not only creates an object for the subject, but also, conversely, produces a subject for the object. In addition to bringing aesthetic pleasure, art allows people to reflect on various fields of knowledge, make associations with their past, and imagine futures, becoming essential to existence. Thus, the different ways in which the content of Moby-Dick is presented encourage comparisons and dialogue, allowing for different understandings and interpretations, and helping readers hone their critical thinking skills, develop new perspectives, and broaden their worldview. The data are discussed in light of psychoeducational considerations.
