Over the last few decades, inclusive education in Brazil has presented a real process of confronting the various challenges posed by the reality of public and social policies for special education. One of these challenges is the growing demand for specialized care for students with learning difficulties in ordinary schools in the public education system, with everyone having the right to quality mainstream education. In line with this need, the aim of this article is to present the results of the research carried out, in an attempt to show how the guiding documents for assessing the performance of students with learning difficulties in resource rooms in the municipality of Valparaíso de Goiás-GO are used. The aim was to describe the phenomenon of assessing the performance of students who attend resource rooms in the municipality of Valparaíso de Goiás-GO, as well as the training of teachers who work in resource rooms, their length of service and preferences for using appropriate resources and methodologies for this service.
