Psychological assessment is a technical-scientific investigation process that aims to provide information for decision-making. The professional should base their decision on fundamental sources of information (psychological tests, interviews, and observation), as well as complementary sources, such as document analysis, and non-psychological techniques and instruments, provided they are supported by scientific literature. Given the specificity of child psychological assessment (CPA), the objective of this work is to present children's literature compatible with the assessment practice and that facilitates addressing the topic of "fear." To this end, a literature survey was conducted in the publishing market in the first half of 2025, based on the criteria of: a) suitability and problematization of the topic; b) language; c) illustrations; d) interaction with socio-emotional skills; and fifteen books from six publishers were selected. Each book was described to assist the professional in making the most appropriate choice for their clinical practice. Through reading with the child, books can help reveal hidden aspects, allowing for the characterization and naming of emotions. It is concluded that the use of children's literature as a projective assessment resource helps children express their fears and helps professionals investigate this specific CPA need.
