This comprehensive systematic review addresses the critical initial approach to polytraumatized pediatric patients, integrating current knowledge from five key articles published between 2019 and 2024. The review synthesizes contemporary epidemiological data, specific physiological and anatomical considerations in children, and the systematic application of standardized protocols like XABCDE. It delves into the essential components of primary assessment, including hemorrhage control, airway management, breathing, circulation, neurological evaluation, and exposure. Furthermore, the article explores advanced diagnostic imaging techniques, tailored management of specific injuries, the pivotal role of transport, multidisciplinary teams, and early rehabilitation. The discussion highlights the advancements in evidence-based practices, such as goal-directed fluid resuscitation and the effective use of imaging. Despite progress, persistent challenges include the standardization of guidelines across institutions and the continuous need for professional training. This review underscores the imperative for cohesive, updated clinical practices to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality rates, ensuring optimal outcomes for pediatric trauma victims.
