The learning of children with ADHD affects their self-esteem and self-confidence. This article explores how these challenges impact the learning process and the importance of the teacher's role. The objective is to understand the specific difficulties of these individuals and identify strategies to overcome them, promoting an inclusive approach in the school environment. The methodology is qualitative, focusing on literature review and data collection on the subject. The databases revealed include PubMed, PsycINFO and SciELO, with criteria of recent articles and books published between 2019 and 2024. A survey revealed that ADHD affects 5% to 7% of the child population, citing the need for attention in schools, according to IBGE. The results highlight the psychological and social effects of the difficulties faced by these children. The study proposes strategies for mental health professionals, educators and parents to help address these challenges. It is concluded that understanding the difficulties of children with ADHD and adopting the right pedagogical practices are essential to create an effective learning environment. This allows them to overcome the barriers of the disorder and develop their potential. Training educators in strategies that promote focus, organization and engagement is crucial for students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
