This Final Course Work aims to analyze the legal and economic impacts faced by employers due to violations of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. Initially, the historical evolution of labor legislation in Brazil and the constitutional principles that ensure the protection of workers' health are addressed. Next, the role of the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) and Regulatory Standards (NRs) is examined, as well as the legal duties of employers regarding OHS. The work also analyzes the different spheres of employer responsibility — labor, civil, and administrative — in the event of noncompliance with standards, in addition to the actions of inspection agencies. Finally, the economic impacts generated by noncompliance with OHS standards are presented, such as the application of fines, the payment of compensation, the drop in productivity, the increase in absenteeism, and damage to the institutional image. It is concluded that compliance with OSH standards not only avoids legal sanctions, but also contributes significantly to the economic and reputational sustainability of companies.
