This article sought to present how nurses should act in the fragile mental health of adolescents in the postpartum period. The research will be bibliographic, using scientific articles found in databases such as Google Scholar, the Latin American Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), the Specialized Bibliographic Database in the Area of Nursing in Brazil (BDEF) and books. The main results found are that the mental health of adolescents in the postpartum period requires continuous attention. The changes of adolescence combined with early motherhood increase the risk of postpartum depression. Nursing plays a crucial role in the early identification of suffering and in offering humanized care, strengthening the mother-baby bond and promoting healthier development. It is essential to strengthen and effectively implement public policies aimed at the health of women, children and adolescents.
