EXPERIENCES OF PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS IN PHYSIOTHERAPY CARE IN WOMEN'S HEALTH

This study sought to characterize students' perceptions of experiences in the area of Physiotherapy applied to women's health. Methodology: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach was conducted with interviews with students of the Physiotherapy course at the Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste who treated patients during the Physiotherapy in Gynecology and Obstetrics discipline. All students answered a questionnaire with questions about the activities developed and their view of the area before and after the experience of care. The contents of the interviews were analyzed and coded into units of meaning. Thirty-one students participated. The units of meaning were: 1) Notion of the performance in the area of physiotherapy in women's health; 2) Opportunity to experience care; 3) Skills and abilities developed. It is concluded that the experience with care practices in the area of physiotherapy in women's health deepened the students' knowledge and developed sociobehavioral skills.
