Abstract

This article aims to analyze the performance of the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE) in enforcing the rights of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with an emphasis on ensuring inclusive education. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, based on a bibliographic and documentary review, in addition to the analysis of case law. The study shows that the TJPE has assumed a central role in consolidating the right to education for students with ASD, through judicial decisions that determine enrollment in regular schools, the provision of support professionals, pedagogical adaptations and access to complementary therapies. The institutional performance of the Court in training programs, intersectoral coordination and awareness-raising actions is also highlighted, demonstrating commitment to inclusion and to the constitutional principles of human dignity and equality. It is concluded that the TJPE has contributed to the construction of a legal culture that is more sensitive to diversity, promoting significant transformations in the field of inclusive education. However, structural, cultural and political challenges persist, requiring continued integrated actions between the Judiciary, public authorities and civil society. The analysis highlights the importance of the Judiciary as an agent that guarantees rights and promotes social justice.
