This article aims to present and discuss the theme “International Drug Trafficking: The drug mules”. Method: In this attempt, the methodology used in the production of this study was carried out based on a bibliographic survey of works and authors that discuss the concept and implications of drug trafficking, as well as the way people are recruited to be drug transporters. Theme: The reflections presented are based on the theoretical framework of the historical-cultural approach to the practice of crime. Justification: The study is directed at analyzing the definition and classification of the characteristics of the various aspects related to the theme. Objective: The importance of knowledge of the implications of trafficking will be considered, as well as the legislation that consolidates the information. The research is justified because the subject is daily in the media reporting, referring to the increasing activity of criminals. Hypothesis: It also aims to consider a broad legal knowledge of the laws on the crimes of trafficking and recruitment of people. Conceptualization and relevance: For this object of study, the concept of legal processes for offenders is evaluated. The study also investigates the stages of development of criminality, related to the theme. The concepts will be analyzed in light of theorists such as Bitencourt (2014), Souza (2020) and SISNAD (2012).
