The objective of this review is to provide a detailed review of the classification and clinical management of burns, focusing on recent advances and future perspectives of this frequent condition in the context of national public health. Burns are a complex clinical challenge, requiring a multidisciplinary approach and in-depth knowledge of pathophysiology and management. Accurate assessment of burn depth and extent, adequate volume replacement, pain and infection control, nutritional support and early rehabilitation are fundamental pillars to optimize prognosis and minimize complications. Continuous research and development of new therapies are essential to further improve outcomes in the treatment of burn patients.
