Educational institutions play a crucial role in preventing violence among young people, contributing to the safety and well-being of students. To create a safer school environment, programs focused on education and safety, such as conflict mediation, socio-emotional development, and bullying prevention, have been implemented. Such initiatives aim not only to reduce physical violence, but also to prevent problems such as bullying and social exclusion. The partnership between schools, families, and the community is vital to the success of these programs. In view of this, a literature review was carried out supported by the analysis of empirical data, placing the results within a comprehensive theoretical framework. The research aims to understand how public policies can contribute to reducing aggressive behavior, promoting the socio-emotional development of students, and strengthening interpersonal relationships within the school community. The results indicate that school initiatives, such as discussion groups, thematic workshops, and psychological support, can be interesting elements to promote a safer and more collaborative environment, with a decrease in bullying cases and greater student engagement. It is concluded that public policies play an important role in preventing youth violence, but the effectiveness of their actions can be increased through integrated strategies that include more ongoing training for professionals, partnerships with the community and a strengthening of dialogue with families.
