Lip cancer is a malignant neoplasm associated with risk factors such as sun exposure, smoking, and alcohol consumption, mainly affecting men over 50 years of age. This retrospective and cross-sectional study analyzed data from the DATASUS and INCA Oncology Panel on cases diagnosed between 2022 and 2024 in the states of Bahia and Pernambuco. Bahia recorded an annual average of 35 cases, while Pernambuco had an average of 28. It was observed that most patients did not undergo treatment in their home states, indicating possible flaws in the regional oncology care network. The main treatments adopted were radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery. The mortality rates analyzed between 2017 and 2022 reveal the need for more effective prevention and early diagnosis actions, especially aimed at the population in the interior of the states, where access to specialized services is still limited. The study highlights the importance of expanding public policies aimed at oral health and oncology, with a focus on regionalizing treatment and strengthening primary health care in the fight against lip cancer in the Brazilian Northeast.
