This article reports on a practical experience developed during a supervised internship in Psychology at a Psychosocial Care Center II (Centro de Atenção Psicossocial in portuguese, CAPS) in southern Brazil, focusing on mediation of a group of women called "Resistance through Word". The group is a space for welcoming and listening, promoting reflections on gender violence, psychological suffering and the experience of being a woman in the Brazilian context. From a psychoanalytic perspective, the article explores how trauma, suicidal behaviors and the compulsion to repetition manifest themselves in the group and how clinical listening can enable the resignification of suffering. Through the articulation between theory and practice, the importance of CAPS as a representative of a public care policy that promotes autonomy and social transformation is highlighted.
