This study investigated teaching competencies as central elements for promoting interdisciplinarity in the context of Education 4.0. Its objective was to analyze how these competencies can transform pedagogical practice, promoting the integration of knowledge and the adoption of active methodologies aligned with contemporary demands. The methodology adopted was based on a bibliographic review and analysis of relevant theoretical references, including authors such as Vygotsky, Freire, Gatti, Bacich and Moran, among others. The results showed that interdisciplinary teaching practice strengthens the development of competencies such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, and is enhanced by the use of digital technologies and innovative pedagogical strategies. Active methodologies such as flipped classroom, peer learning, hybrid teaching, gamification and problem-based learning stood out, all of which are effective in promoting meaningful learning. It was found that such approaches require careful planning, ongoing training and teaching practice centered on mediation. Interdisciplinarity has proven to be essential for connecting school content to students' realities. It is concluded that strengthening teaching skills is crucial for inclusive, critical and transformative education, aligned with the challenges of the digital society.
