Abstract

This article sought to analyze the scientific production on competencies between 2020 and 2024, aiming to identify trends, relevant authors, key journals, and recurring themes in the national literature. To this end, a bibliometric analysis was conducted based on 83 articles extracted from the SPELL database. The methodology involved data collection, organization, and analysis, providing a quantitative overview of the scientific output. The results show that 2022 had the highest number of publications, with the journal Revista de Gestão e Secretariado (GeSec) standing out. The most frequent keywords were “competencies”, “people management”, “education” , and “performance”, highlighting a focus on topics related to organizational management and the educational sector. The most cited authors include Joel Dutra, Maria Tereza Fleury, and Guy Le Boterf, indicating the prevalence of classical theoretical approaches. It is concluded that the field of competencies remains relevant and diverse, with a predominance of studies oriented toward practical application in institutional contexts, especially in the public and educational sectors.
