Abstract

This article aims to analyze the impacts of digitalization on inventory control in small businesses, based on a bibliographic review guided by classic and contemporary authors in the areas of administration, logistics and information systems. It starts from the observation that inventory control is one of the most critical functions for the financial and operational health of companies, especially small ones, whose resources are often limited and whose organizational structure tends to be informal. The research, of a qualitative and descriptive nature, was developed based on studies that address the fundamental concepts of digitalization in business management, the challenges of inventory control in micro and small businesses, and the application of computerized management systems, with emphasis on the shop platform. The analysis of the sources allowed us to identify that the adoption of digital technologies for inventory control has the potential to increase the level of accuracy in information, reduce operational losses, speed up replenishment processes and promote data integration between different sectors of the company. Among the main challenges identified are the need for technical training, initial investment and cultural adaptation. It is concluded that, although digitalization represents a strategic opportunity for the modernization of management in small businesses, its effectiveness depends on structural and human factors that require monitoring, technical support and planning. The shop system, in turn, proves to be a viable alternative adapted to the reality of Brazilian micro and small entrepreneurs, contributing to the professionalization of processes and the sustainability of businesses in the context of digital transformation.
