This article aimed to highlight the challenges faced by the LGBTQIAPN+ population in accessing healthcare. In addition to increasing visibility, the study seeks to encourage research in this field and promote the training of healthcare professionals, aiming for more inclusive and sensitive care. The research was conducted using the PubMed database, with inclusion criteria of Portuguese and English language articles published between 2019 and 2024, focused on Brazil and/or the United States. A total of 53 studies were identified, and 26 were selected after excluding those outside the scope. The analysis highlights the National Policy for Comprehensive Health of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Travestis, and Transsexuals, established in Brazil in 2011 to combat discrimination and ensure adequate care within the public health system (SUS). However, health disparities persist, reflecting the vulnerability of the LGBTQIAPN+ community and the limitations of current policies. The study reinforces the need for concrete progress toward a truly equitable and accessible healthcare system for all.
