This article addresses the right to disconnection in the context of the digital age, highlighting the implications of the excessive use of messaging applications in the workplace. With the advent of new technologies, especially instant messaging applications, it has become increasingly difficult for workers to establish clear boundaries between work and leisure time, resulting in an increasing overload of tasks and the compromise of individuals' well-being. The study explores how the lack of effective regulation on the use of these tools can lead to harmful work practices, such as the extension of working hours and the invasion of workers' privacy. The research was carried out through a literature review, examining theories, legislation and studies on disconnection and the impact of messaging applications on the work routine. Finally, the article proposes the need for a critical reflection on the implementation of the right to disconnection, considering the protection of workers' mental health and the balance between work and personal life, in order to ensure a fairer and healthier work environment in the digital age.
