The research investigated how the convergence of knowledge among students, tutors and teachers in Distance Education (DE) can be promoted, focusing on interactivity and collective construction of knowledge in virtual environments. The general objective was to analyze the possibilities of this convergence and identify the factors that contribute to the success of DE. The research was bibliographic in nature, having been carried out through the analysis of articles, books and scientific publications related to the topic. The development of the study highlighted the importance of constant interaction between the three educational agents, with the active participation of the student, the mediation of the tutor and the support of the teacher being fundamental. In addition, the research highlighted the relevance of active methodologies and technological tools for the promotion of meaningful and collaborative learning. The final considerations indicated that DE offers great possibilities for the democratization of education, but also faces challenges that need to be overcome, such as the training of educators and resistance to the use of technologies. The research contributed to the understanding of the role of knowledge convergence in the educational process, suggesting the continuation of studies that deepen these aspects in different contexts.
