Abstract

This study investigated the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in distance learning courses, aiming to analyze its advantages, disadvantages, and challenges. The central question addressed was: “What are the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges of applying Artificial Intelligence in distance learning courses?” The general objective of the research was to understand how AI can be effectively applied in distance education, considering its pedagogical and technological impacts. The methodology used was bibliographic research, which involved analyzing specialized literature on the topic. The study highlighted the benefits of AI, such as personalized learning and improved educational management, while also pointing out the disadvantages and challenges, such as data dependence and ethical issues. The final considerations confirmed that, despite the benefits, the implementation of AI should be carefully planned, considering teacher training and student data protection. The research also suggested that further studies be conducted to explore the long-term implications of AI use in education.
