Abstract

Companies, in general, are work environments marked by high competitiveness among employees and constant pressure to achieve the proposed goals. However, to fulfill these objectives, many use these prerogatives to denigrate and humiliate their co-workers. It is in this context that moral harassment enters. This institute refers to any action that aims to denigrate and disrespect human dignity. In the case of organizations, moral harassment is characterized by situations where the employee's autonomy is withdrawn; the overload resulting from new tasks imposed on employees, talking to the employee shouting; contest, at any time, the employee's decisions, among other actions. All of them, in some way, have harmful consequences for the victim. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the harmful effects that bullying causes in the work environment. In order to carry out this study, bibliographic materials were sought in databases that bring the doctrinal and jurisprudential positions on the respective theme. In the results found, it can be seen that the jurisprudence is fully in favor of civil liability of companies that allow moral harassment to be carried out.
