The act of playing figures as a relevant instrument for progress, from childhood to adolescence. Through the manipulation of objects and exploration of the environment, individuals expand their sensory perception. The playful act in a collective functions as a stage for learning interpersonal relationships. The sharing of objects, the negotiation of rules, and the resolution of disagreements are experiences that teach the importance of respect and cooperation. The use of technological tools in the playful act opens up a range of possibilities for the learning of children and adolescents. Apps and digital platforms can provide rich sensory and cognitive experiences, boosting inventiveness and discovery. The present study had as its general objective to verify play as an essential tool for child and youth development, covering sensory, cognitive, social, and technological aspects. The present research stands out for its relevance in exploring play as a fundamental pillar in the integral development of children and adolescents. This work was conducted through a bibliographical research, where we sought to deepen the understanding of the role of play in child and youth development. This research is structured in three fundamental parts: first, we address how the playful act, from early age to adolescence. Next, we examine the role of play in building social skills. Finally, we investigate the use of technological resources in play. The research revealed that play, in its various forms, is essential for integral development, covering sensory, social, and technological aspects.
