Abstract

The digital book "From Exclusion to Opportunity: Analyses on Sports, Prison Education and Criminal Justice as Tools for Social Change" presents a detailed investigation into effective strategies for transforming adverse social realities into concrete opportunities for human development and citizenship.

Structured in three complementary chapters, the content initially explores how sports can act as a powerful agent in overcoming social marginalization, providing inclusion, empowerment and future prospects for historically excluded individuals. In the chapter "From Marginality to Medal: Bibliographic Analysis on the Role of Sports in Promoting Social Inclusion", an in-depth study of existing academic contributions on the subject is carried out, highlighting practical cases and measurable results of successful sports programs.

Then, in the second chapter, entitled "Education as a Factor in Reducing Criminal Recidivism: Pedagogical Analysis of the Resocialization Process of Released Prisoners", the fundamental importance of prison education is addressed. This section highlights effective pedagogical methodologies for reducing criminal recidivism and the productive reintegration of ex-offenders into society, demonstrating how well-structured educational policies directly impact public safety and personal recovery.

Finally, in the chapter "Custody Hearing", the book critically investigates a recent legal instrument that aims to ensure fundamental rights and prevent violations during the initial criminal process. The analysis presented evaluates the efficiency and challenges faced by this judicial practice in the Brazilian context, reflecting on its potential to improve criminal justice and contribute to systemic change.

This work constitutes an indispensable contribution for both researchers and professionals interested in building a more just and inclusive society, in which sport, education and justice are seen and applied as strategic tools for social transformation.
