Abstract

Chronic disease monitoring is a growing challenge in the healthcare field, especially due to population aging and the increasing prevalence of these conditions. In this context, technological innovations, such as wearable devices and sensors, have emerged as essential tools for the continuous monitoring and efficient management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. This article reviews the main technological innovations in chronic disease monitoring, exploring how these devices contribute to the management of these conditions and improve the quality of life of patients. Through a literature review, the recent advances, clinical benefits, limitations and future perspectives of these technologies are discussed. It is concluded that, although wearable devices and sensors show great potential, challenges related to data accuracy, patient adherence and privacy still need to be overcome to maximize their impact on chronic disease monitoring.
