Abstract

Global concern is growing with the increase in the number of individuals around the world who are carriers of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and other comorbidities that affect the global population, some individually, locally, regionally or in more severe cases. national bass. For this reason, there is a need to seek therapies that can help cure and/or treat these diseases. In the development of new medicines, one of the obstacles encountered is safe biochemistry for continuous use, as many synthetic medicines have hostile effects when used in the long term. In order to promote a good quality of life for patients and to prevent diseases, the scientific community turns its attention to ancient knowledge and this involves the study of medicinal plants, some of which can also be consumed as food. One of these plants studied is Piper aduncum L, typical of Brazilian territory with great potential as a herbal medicine in the treatment of various comorbidities.
